Network 81 is a national network of parents working towards properly resourced inclusive education for children with special needs. It offers free advice and information and a wide range of services

No Panic

A voluntary group offering support for sufferers of anxiety, phobias, school refusal etc. Mainly for adults but does offer some good child leaflets and a Helpline.

Talking Point

Offers information and sources of support for professionals and parents of children with speech and language difficulties. Site developed by I-Can, Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists and AFASIC.

The Communication Trust

The purpose of the Trust is to raise awareness of the importance of speech, language and communication across the children’s workforce and to enable practitioners to access the best training and expertise to support all children’s communication needs

Young Minds

Young Minds also offer a free confidential telephone service providing information and advice for any adult with concerns about the mental health of a child or young person, this may be a useful contact for the parents of SM teenagers.
